Expectations – WIPpet Wednesday

Here we are again for another WIPpet Wednesday! This week has been crazy hectic (and it’s only Wednesday), but I have managed to get a bit of writing done, which is always nice.

This week’s WIPpet math is significantly less dodgy than last week’s. 12 sentences for the 12th. Easy peasy.

“Did you see her tonight?” Aeris’s most annoying habit was sensing what Fier was thinking, and then forcing it to become a conversation, rather than introspective musing. When did silently brooding become so unfashionable?

“Yes.” An image of the Empress materialised in his mind, her stiff posture, raised sword, and laughing eyes. It made him shudder.

“That bad?” Aeris had propped himself up on his elbows, and was looking down at him.

Fier was gripped with a sudden urge to kiss him, to drown himself in Aeris until nothing else mattered but the two of them. It wouldn’t solve anything, but it would make him feel better, even if just for a moment. Instead, he just shrugged. “She was exactly what I expected.”

  1. Stiff posture, raised sword, and laughing eyes… hmm. That would be hard to forget. I’m interested in seeing what happens next.

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. ‘When did silently brooding become so unfashionable?’ Haha. I love this.
And, yes, Fier, kiss him! 😀 <—- my answer for everything, lol

  3. That first paragraph made me laugh. Some people just can’t help themselves and have to turn everything into a conversation. “Yeah, there’s a reason I was only thinking it…”

  4. LOL at the first paragraph! “When did silently brooding become so unfashionable?” Love that line.
Yes yes yes yes yes kiss him kiss him kiss him! Kissing makes the world go round!!

  5. I’m also a fan of the “unfashionable” line. 😀 I hate when people don’t get my cues about wanting to be in my own thoughts.

Love the chemistry between them under the surface.
